Nothing Left to Prove

MOVEMENT I - THE GROUND

I have carried iron long after the war was gone. I have watched the night and learned to call it home.

I know the weight of staying. I know the cost of leaving too. But the earth beneath my feet never asked what I could prove.

I am here. That is enough. I am here. And I have nothing left to prove.

MOVEMENT II - OPEN HANDS

I can give without carrying. I can care without holding on. I can stand beside another without becoming what they lean upon.

I can love you and leave you free. You can come. You can go. There is room beside my fire, but no chain beneath its glow.

There are roads I haven't taken that don't need to lead me home. There are songs worth singing even if they're never known.

I can build without a kingdom. I can make without a plan. I can laugh before the work is finished. I can leave it where it stands.

Not every door must open. Not every wound must close. Not every beautiful thing needs a reason to be whole. I want to follow what makes something in me glow.

MOVEMENT IV - EARTH AND SUN

There is a fire above me. There is a fire below. One falls across my shoulders. One rises through my bones. The weight. The light. The roots. The sky. I have lived enough in darkness to stop asking joy for reasons why.

I will not turn my warmth into another thing I owe. I will not make my freedom another battle I must win. I am not becoming worthy. I am letting myself live.

Maybe strength was never how much weight I learned to bear. Maybe freedom isn't leaving. Maybe freedom is being there.

No throne. No chains. No destiny. No one I must become. Just these feet upon the earth and morning on my skin. I have nothing left to conquer. I have somewhere left to live.

Nothing left to prove! Nothing left to fight! Earth beneath my body! Sun above my eyes! Let the whole sky open. Let the deep earth move. I have carried enough. I have survived enough. I have earned nothing- I don't need to. I am here! I am warm! I am free! And I choose to be alive.
